However, more than his accomplishments as the coach, to understand the story better we need to focus on Andy’s personal life. Andy and his wife Tammy have five children. The oldest son, Garrett suffered from severe drug addiction and lost his life due to a heroin overdose while he was in Lehigh University. The Reid family mourned the loss of their oldest and it was a hard time for coach Andy. Moreover, the trouble didn’t stop there. His other son Britt, after a couple of years of his brother’s death, was arrested and convicted in a gun and drug-related offense. Then what he said about this landed him on the hot water and drew nationwide condemnation. What he essentially said was that the management and especially coach Andy thought they could “fix” Tyreek Hill and they were unsuccessful. He also added that Coach Andy wasn’t good at disciplining and fixing people as it demonstrated in his family. Blaming a coach about issues with players and team’s performance is one thing but dragging his tragic experiences and picking at his flaw of not being able to “fix” people is a line too far and Kevin Kietzman seems to have crossed it willfully.
